Sewing Saturday

Happy Halloween! I wanted to post today but I didn't have any pictures or anything prepared, until I remembered this photoshoot I recently did after making Charlotte a Halloween costume.

With a large amount of black fabric I had bought at a garage sale I decided I would make a cute black dress with a special touch- spiderweb embroidery. The dress came together easily and I love how great it turned out! Such a simple costume, and used up fabric from my stash.
Oh hope you have a great, candy filled night!

p.s. Is anyone else's blog feed glitchy? I keep getting old posts from blogs...

Review Tuesday

Hi! For today's "Review Tuesday" features something I bought along with the bird-watching set-  OG Retro "Office Girl" came along with me too.  This was an impulse purchase but I'm glad I got it!

The first adorable item is the cat eye glasses.

The unique tortoiseshell color gives these glasses a bit more of the "unusual" factor.

The frame is all plastic.

But they have mini screws at the sides!

I think these are cute but you don't really get the full effect of them until you try them on. I think the tortoiseshell idea is cute but I could see how this could look bad with some outfits. I may eventually try to pop out the lenses from the glasses because I dislike the glare they add!

Black and gold pen.

All plastic with an okay paint job. (I don't really mind that the paint is uneven, for the price.)

I really like the gold detailing and another great addition to your dolls office or work-space.

Pen and notebook, relatively the same size.

You can add the pen at the side and secure the Velcro halfway.

Very cute faux snakeskin cover! I love the fact that it's purple :)

Notebook inside, blank, unlined pages and a nice thickness.

Without bending it you can slip the bottom side into one of the flaps, I didn't try to fit the whole notebook in because I still want it flat!

I think this a great piece in this set, the notebook can double as a sketchbook, book, or journal.

The banana yellow purse with two pockets.

Only the pen can fit in a pocket!

Nevermind, I guess you can slip one end of the glasses in..

On the back a rather awkwardly angled handle helps the doll hold the purse! Or not..

Velcro closure.

I had to turn this inside out to get a picture of the inside, and the really large OG tag. I know it doesn't show up as well on the computer but the lining is a neon yellow whereas the outside is a more banana color.

The scarf:this was really hard to get out of the box because it was sewn down with thread! It left a few holes :(

I think the design is cute! I love the color combination.

At first I thought this was a headband or bow, I then realized it's supposed to be a scarf you wrap around the neck into an oversized bow. Okay then..

Everything can fit into the purse! I find this awesome because what use is a purse if you can't store a bunch of easily lost doll items in?

I feel like the colors in each item don't really go well together with the rest of the set, although I won't know until I try it out ;)

The overall set has a lot of really cute pieces, and a great addition to any retro collection. Before giving any more opinions, testing it out with a doll to see how well it works together is going determine my final thoughts.
Thanks for looking!,

Lindsey on Top of the World

A week ago we explored a canyon (kind of) close to us and I brought Lindsey along! It was still really bright outside to take pictures but I managed to take a few really cute ones and I thought I would share it with you!

The outfit Lindsey has on she has been sitting in for weeks, just waiting for me to take pictures of her in it so I could change her. Do you ever get like that? Like you find a really cute outfit for a doll then you feel like you have to take pictures because they look so nice before you change it?
 Thanks for looking!,

Lindsey & Libby's Room Tour

Can you actually believe it? I set up the dollhouse and the pictures came out somewhat okay. Granted, it's only one room in the dollhouse that is at least *close* to being finished but it's a start :)

Here's Lindsey! She's either guarding her room or writing up a blog post for me ;)

I have no idea who get's the top or bottom bunk, the bedding is temporary as I still have to find motivation to start working on making mattresses, blankets and pillows for this room.
The bedding is from the Bouquet Bed and Bedding and Tinkerbell is from the Disney Store!

The top bunk! As you can see the window paint is a little messy... I still have a lot of work to do! The book and both pillows were made by me :)

The suitcase fits perfectly under the bed, the doll bed someone was giving away so I got it for free! I don't know where they originally bought it from.

Lindsey and her clipboard, this was supposed to be a great angle but the camera would not focus!

Next to the bed is this cute bulletin board I found at the thrift store, almost a year ago! It has a few postcards from the Bouquet bed set until I make a few.

I thought the AG desk and computer fits perfectly in this room, I  found it at a resale shop. The desk lamp was a dollar store find, I love this style, it reminds me of the Pixar logo!

I think this desk has the perfect space for a few extra items ^-^

A cute vase from the Bouquet nightstand (sense a trend here?) ;)

The Staples plastic caddy is the perfect size to hold a few AG magazines and a book.

Stitch is currently residing in their room although whenever I get Charlotte's room together Stitch will move ;)

The ladder is just the right size for either Lindsey or Libby to climb up top.

I guess that blog post won't be happening...

Rebecca visited after an outdoor photoshoot, Lindsey is currently trying to explain to her how to upload photos from a camera to a computer but Rebecca just can't understand being from 1914 and all ;)

"It isn't rocket science!" Lindsey exclaims
"What's a rocket?"
 ....
I just realized I never gave you an overview of the whole room!
Oh well, I will be updating this room close to Christmas when I decorate so I'll make sure to include one then :)
Thanks for looking!,

What kind of postcards or cards should I print out?
