Review Tuesday.. on a Friday

Hi! This week I wasn't able to post the review on Tuesday.. So I finally had a chance to post it today. Today's review is on Rebecca's Robe and Slippers that retails for $24. I love that this outfit is blue considering most of Rebecca's collection mainly consist of purple.
Overview-

I love these slippers!

Slippers-
The slippers are very cute, they are made out of thin felt.
The pompom's are very cute! Look! No huge AG ego tag :)

 Robe-
The main part of the robe is made out of a flannel type of fabric with a satin trim and frog closures.
The pocket is very cute and the pattern on the fabric matches up perfectly.
I have never seen frog closures before, great design element.
 Inside of the robe..
This looks like hand stitching to me! :)
The sash is stitched at the sides and can be tied into a bow.
Overall this is a great addition to Rebecca's wardrobe and goes perfectly with Rebecca's Pajamas.

Sewing Sunday

Hi! Sorry about not posting Around the Dollhouse, everything is sitting in tubs and no progress has been made on dollhouse since the last post. Today's project is one I made using this tutorial from our dolls, you might have seen this quilt in photo stories, I believe I made it before I even started this blog. It now belong's to Kirsten..

This was really fun to make although cutting out each block was very time consuming. I'm glad I made this as it fit's perfectly with Kirsten's bed. By the way Mia look's so cute in Kirsten's meet outfit, what do you think? The tutorial was very helpful and a great beginner project.

Review Tuesday

Today's Review is on the My AG Purple Peacock Pajamas. This outfit is still currently available for $24 although on Cyber Monday I was able to buy it at $12.  When I started collecting American Girl again that was one of my first outfit's to add to my wishlist, not only do I love peacocks but the color palette of the pajamas is so charming.  Overview-

Top-
The top features a peacock print with the American Girl tag on the front in a contrasting color.

The top closes in back with purple Velcro, I think the top is very well made and the print is very cute.
Pants-
The pant's are cropped which I think gives the look of too small pajama pants..

The pant's feature a matching American Girl tag on the side of the right leg, I don't like the cropped look but overall they are very cute and simple.
Slippers-

I think the slippers are the best part, on each is a embroidered design featuring three blue sequins, the shoes are easy to get on although the doll is hard to balance on a flat surface standing.
Tucked inside one of the slippers is a very large American Girl tag.  Hairbands-

The hairbands are the standard AG size, if you wrap them around the hair multiple times they look bulky and out of scale. I was only able to find one...
Overall this is still one of my favorites although Grace's Pajamas are the best. I think for $12 you can't go wrong and if they ever put them on sale again they are a great deal.

Sewing Sunday

Hi! This sewing Sunday is a work in progress as I am currently sewing multiple projects for my dolls and for my spring/summer release, as it gets closer to the end of March I will be posting "sneak peek's" of some of the items but for now I will show you my custom dress. I love looking through the fashion releases and Ralph Lauren's Spring 2015 collection caught my eye, I love the safari inspired color's mixed with bright spring color's. One of my favorites is-
 Another of my favorites is-

I love the necklace!
So I went to Joann's and bought chiffon, tulle and a knit fabric in a bright yellow, I'm still in the planning stage as I am kind of nervous about sewing with chiffon and of course since I will be sewing it without a pattern :) I created a mock up by just pinning the fabric-
I can't wait to start it!

Around the Dollhouse

Hi! So far very little progress has been made on the dollhouse, we have sanded it and are planing to prime the house very soon.  While that is going on I am currently designing what I want in each room.

In the previous post I created this as a layout of where I wanted things to be, this is just an idea, it isn't permanent. Here are some design ideas-

This is my idea for Saige and Mia's room..

I love the interpretation of Kit's bedroom in the attic and would love to incorporate this design in future Kit and Marie Graces bedroom.

In the far left of this picture is Kirsten's room, I would love to paint Kirsten's room to look like the painted log cabins.

My AG #58 is another doll on my wishlist and I am planning on painting honeycomb walls with Molly's Yellow Bed for a bee inspired bedroom.

So for Lindsey/Libby (renamed Grace) I want to have bunk beds with "L & L" on their wall, I like both designs of bedrooms, which one would you prefer?

For Rebecca's I wanted to do a shabby chic light pink room including her bed.
So that's mainly the plans for the bedrooms, I am still deciding the color scheme for the Kitchen, Living Room, Bathroom and custom  twins... if you have any suggestions comment below!

Thoughts on American Girl's Spring Release Part 2

Hi, here's part 2 of my thoughts...
Shimmer & Lace Party Dress $30 I love the peach cream color of this dress, not a big fan of the huge flower or the asymmetrical hem but the adorable shoes and hair clip make up for it, definitely on my want list.

Pretty Plie Ballet Outfit $34 Let's start with the leotard, from pictures it looks like this has a cutout back which I love, the wrap sweater is cute and realistic, the dance skirt look's very cheap, the ballet shoes actually look realistic and the headband is a nice accent, I would not purchase this unless it goes on sale, which I can see happening.

Pretty Pink Tutu Set $28 From the description it look's like it comes with the tutu, slippers and tiara, not worth the price. The tiara is described as metal, the tutu is see-through which is just lame on AG's part, you couldn't have added a few more layers and the slippers are unrealistic, nobody would wear those when dancing.

Boho Beachy Swimsuit $28 This is so cute! I love one piece swim suit's on dolls and the gathered accents are very cute as well as the anklet flip flops.

Sunshine Garden Outfit $30 (Is it just me or has anybody on their design team camped or gardened?) I think it is unusual for only one sleeve to be sewn on ,not to mention the unfinished hem, seriously?! Up close you can see that the hem has been serged and just left, like somebody forgot to hem.. the wedge shoes are cute but are unrealistic, have you tried to garden in wedge shoes?, I have tried and it is painful. I love the plaid shorts though.

Sunshine Gardening Bench Set $68 This is really cute, it seems a little small to me and you could easily recreate it with more accessories.

Sparkly Jazz Outfit $34 The dress is very cute and spot on, I have never seen a dancer wear finger-less gloves with a costume like that before, the shoes you would never wear to dance in, it look's like a remake of Isabelle's shoes, the way they styled that bow ...

Soccer Team Outfit $38 I have a pleasant company soccer outfit with a cloth soccer ball that is so cute, I agree with other's this isn't realistic and the ball is plastic :(

Sparkle Spa Robe $24 This look's so comfy and it is blue!

Beachy Hair Beads $15 I love these! Definitely on trend..
Overall I am kind of underwhelmed with the My AG release, I was looking forward to some cute spring things as well as realistic dance outfits as I wanted one of my dolls to dance, oh well, I can just sew or look on Etsy :)  Thanks for looking!
