Around the Dollhouse

Hi! So far very little progress has been made on the dollhouse, we have sanded it and are planing to prime the house very soon.  While that is going on I am currently designing what I want in each room.

In the previous post I created this as a layout of where I wanted things to be, this is just an idea, it isn't permanent. Here are some design ideas-

This is my idea for Saige and Mia's room..

I love the interpretation of Kit's bedroom in the attic and would love to incorporate this design in future Kit and Marie Graces bedroom.

In the far left of this picture is Kirsten's room, I would love to paint Kirsten's room to look like the painted log cabins.

My AG #58 is another doll on my wishlist and I am planning on painting honeycomb walls with Molly's Yellow Bed for a bee inspired bedroom.

So for Lindsey/Libby (renamed Grace) I want to have bunk beds with "L & L" on their wall, I like both designs of bedrooms, which one would you prefer?

For Rebecca's I wanted to do a shabby chic light pink room including her bed.
So that's mainly the plans for the bedrooms, I am still deciding the color scheme for the Kitchen, Living Room, Bathroom and custom  twins... if you have any suggestions comment below!

Thoughts on American Girl's Spring Release Part 2

Hi, here's part 2 of my thoughts...
Shimmer & Lace Party Dress $30 I love the peach cream color of this dress, not a big fan of the huge flower or the asymmetrical hem but the adorable shoes and hair clip make up for it, definitely on my want list.

Pretty Plie Ballet Outfit $34 Let's start with the leotard, from pictures it looks like this has a cutout back which I love, the wrap sweater is cute and realistic, the dance skirt look's very cheap, the ballet shoes actually look realistic and the headband is a nice accent, I would not purchase this unless it goes on sale, which I can see happening.

Pretty Pink Tutu Set $28 From the description it look's like it comes with the tutu, slippers and tiara, not worth the price. The tiara is described as metal, the tutu is see-through which is just lame on AG's part, you couldn't have added a few more layers and the slippers are unrealistic, nobody would wear those when dancing.

Boho Beachy Swimsuit $28 This is so cute! I love one piece swim suit's on dolls and the gathered accents are very cute as well as the anklet flip flops.

Sunshine Garden Outfit $30 (Is it just me or has anybody on their design team camped or gardened?) I think it is unusual for only one sleeve to be sewn on ,not to mention the unfinished hem, seriously?! Up close you can see that the hem has been serged and just left, like somebody forgot to hem.. the wedge shoes are cute but are unrealistic, have you tried to garden in wedge shoes?, I have tried and it is painful. I love the plaid shorts though.

Sunshine Gardening Bench Set $68 This is really cute, it seems a little small to me and you could easily recreate it with more accessories.

Sparkly Jazz Outfit $34 The dress is very cute and spot on, I have never seen a dancer wear finger-less gloves with a costume like that before, the shoes you would never wear to dance in, it look's like a remake of Isabelle's shoes, the way they styled that bow ...

Soccer Team Outfit $38 I have a pleasant company soccer outfit with a cloth soccer ball that is so cute, I agree with other's this isn't realistic and the ball is plastic :(

Sparkle Spa Robe $24 This look's so comfy and it is blue!

Beachy Hair Beads $15 I love these! Definitely on trend..
Overall I am kind of underwhelmed with the My AG release, I was looking forward to some cute spring things as well as realistic dance outfits as I wanted one of my dolls to dance, oh well, I can just sew or look on Etsy :)  Thanks for looking!

Thought's On American Girls Spring Release Part 1

So after the excitement of the new girl of the year many await American Girl's spring release, which usually includes historical and modern. I am going to split up this post in to two parts, this first part will be on the historical release.  So many of you have seen the sneak peeks on pinterest, myself included and while some were interesting others were not what I would have thought at all (cue Rebecca's swimsuit) I was anticipating the prices for these limited edition set's to be somewhere around $64 like last years release but, thankfully they are at $48 this time around (has anyone else noticed they split last years limited edition set's and are now available?) Let's get on to the thoughts..
First up is my one and only Rebecca-

Rebecca's Seashore Set $48 When I first saw this I was very disappointed, now it is starting to grow on me, with the help of that adorable beach chair of course (just think of the photo opportunities!) I am currently collecting for Rebecca and I am planning on getting this before December 31st.
Kit-

Kit's Chicken Keeping Set $48 Like everything in Kit's collection this adorable set is no exception, just look at the chicken! Kit is on my wishlist and one of the first things I would love to get is this. Another plus is that it looks like the shirt is separate!
Addy-

Addy's Dress and Sewing Set $48  Addy is another doll on my wishlist and it doesn't help that she has a sewing set! This is absolutely adorable, I love the pinafore, I wish the scissors looked like actual ones, though.
Julie-

Julie's Skateboarding Set $48 I have to say Julie isn't my favorite Historical Character although I do enjoy reading her mysteries, this is a cute outfit..

Julie's Mix Print Maxi Dress $28 I am honestly shocked at this price, it is nice to see a $28 admist the more current trend of pricing outfits at $34. I really like this outfit and I will be putting this on my wishlist for now.
Kaya-

Modern Fancy Shawl Outfit $48 Kaya look's great in red, I love the detailed embroidery.
Samantha-

Samantha's Flower Picking Set $48 I am not really impressed with this outfit, we really don't need another pink dress as it is and the two tone boots is something we have seen for a while now, it look's like now that Samantha is back American Girl can spoil one doll and leave other's (including Caroline and Josefina, who got nothing) with one item.

Samantha's Special Day Dress $32 I love this outfit, especially since their is GREEN in it, I think it would look lovely on Nellie, who I someday would like to get.

Samantha's Painting Set $36 Another favorite of mine, this is so cute. Look's like the easel and paint set are mad out of plastic though :(

Samantha's Treat Set $45-$120 Gone are the day's of *gasp* TWO chairs, who would like to sit outside eating treats alone? (okay, I might like to do this..) Overall this is a very cute set and I like that you can buy it separately although I don't get that their are two glasses, one chair and one plate...

Samantha's Travel Coat and Hat $32 I think this would be better priced at around $30 as Grace's travel coat is $28 and does it cost that much for the hat?! This is so cute for spring.. just maybe...

Samantha's Travel Bag Set $28 This is cute although I think it needs something more to complete this set.

Samantha's Garden Gazebo $200 This is a great piece, if I collected for Samantha I would love to get this, the gazebo is wooden (yay!) and the fairy lights are very adorable.

I really want to see these new item's in person and then reevaluate as the stock photo's can sometimes be deceiving.  In my opinion I think Caroline is next up for retirement which could hopefully cause the return of Felicity, I hope the revamp for Josefina that was promised happens soon as well as the new My AG meet, my sister is impatiently waiting for Josefina to get some new things. What do you think of the new release, anything you are planning on getting?
Thanks for looking,

 p.s. When should I post part 2?

Review Tuesday

Today's review is on Rebecca's Holiday Outfit. The outfit costs $34.  This is one of my favorite outfit's from Rebecca's collection, the delicate fabric with polka dots is very adorable! The pieces of the outfit go very well together.
The dress-

The periwinkle color is very nice although this is yet another dress that is purple for Rebecca :( I love the details, especially the trim, ribbon and buckle. The dress closes in back with Velcro which is a very poor choice for this type of dress as the fabric can snag very easily.
Tights-

The tights are regular AG tights and are well made with a great thickness.
 Headband-

The headband is hard to get on a doll but I absolutely love the design of it, especially the roses and the green ribbon leaves help tie the buckle on her dress into the outfit.
The shoes-

The shoes are very adorable, I love the double strap and that they are shiny. On the bottom the brand is imprinted, the shoes have a heel which sometimes can make balancing the doll hard but Rebecca was able to easily stand up with them on.
Overview-

 I love the tulip sleeves!

Overall this is a great addition to Rebecca's collection and the quality is amazing compared to other outfit's produced by AG.  Rebecca look's adorable in this! Thanks for looking,
