The Butterfly Queen

Hi! Thanks for your great responses on the last post, I will let you know when I start customizing her :) Rebecca was my sewing model this past week and after finishing up an upcylced t-shirt I was left with nothing for her to wear so I pulled out her special edition butterfly outfit. She has only worn this less than 2 times just because I always forget about it :)

I tried taking pictures twice that day because unfortunately the weather was bad and my camera battery was almost dead :) Whenever I attempt to take pictures of Rebecca she falls down so the solution for this photoshoot was to push a stick into the ground and lean her up against so she wouldn't fall over, which led to a (mostly) flyaway and stress free photoshoot. I tried using Snisters Flock tips on perspective, which include aiming your camera at the same height as the doll. From other pictures on my blog you might know how much I love taking pictures while standing over the doll, so trying this out was a new experience. I really love how it turned out and will be using this again and again. Did I mention I ordered a reflector last Friday? It arrived yesterday and I am in love with it, I seriously can't imagine how I have ever taken pictures without it!
Thanks for looking!,

  2. Sitting down in the ground and getting into your doll's world definently helps, and it's something I need to remember to do too.
    Rebecca looks lovely!

    1. It can be so hard to remember when everything is always at our level, so changing perspective can really change the dolls expressions and how you look at them :) Don't let her hear you! I think she is already a bit stuck up at getting such an important role in her school play ;)

That is SO cool that you got a reflector!! I'd love to get one someday. Is it difficult to use or super easy? :)

    1. Thank you! Her hair can be a struggle but I think not falling down multiple times during pictures helps :) It is AMAZING and way easy to use.
