Sewing Sunday

Hey, so this week I stumbled upon some AMAZING deals at a local secondhand shop.They were having a summer clearance sale and all of the clothes in the racks were $0.50! I was able to get a baby swimsuit, jumper (featured in this post), dress and top.  Also at the shop was a Rebecca for $60! We  did not get her as just a couple weeks before we bought Rebecca :) (Great deal though!) So this Sunday Sewing post will be featuring the romper that we got, I think it is 3-6 month, anyway, I don't know what I want to do with the bottom part but I will be featuring the top part of it now. Their is something about yellow that makes hazel eyed dolls really pop and since we have both Rebecca and Mia their were plenty of choices :) Anyway, onto the post- 
I did not get a before photo of the outfit but I didn't make any drastic changes..  

I first tried the outfit on the doll, fitted the excess fabric in the back, cut the straps off, hemmed it, sewed on the straps to the right place and stitched it up in the back.  

It is starting to feel like fall around here but this top will look perfect for a bumble bee on Halloween . 

The back of it is a little mismatched but oh well. 

So cute!

Quick Craft

Here is a tutorial for a historical inspired back to school craft. So their have been a lot of doll school crafts but not a lot for historical's... 

For the photo challenge I featured Kirsten, so I made a small doll sized chalkboard for her to use, would you like to know how I made it?  

Materials - 

Manila Paper 

Scissors

Ruler

Glue stick 

Pencil 

Doll Sized Chalk 

Black paper, chalkboard paper or chalkboard paint (Use whatever you have) 

 

The first step is to mark the manila paper at  2.5 inches.

Then you will mark the manila paper at  2 inches. 

Cut along the marks- it should look like this- 

Round the corners with your scissor- 

Mark the chalkboard paper at  1.5 inches. 

Then mark the chalkboard paper at  2 inches

Cut it out- it should look like this- 

Then round the corners with your scissors 

 

   

After that glue the pieces together using a glue stick- 

Your'e Done! Tip: For longer play-ability glue or paint the chalkboard onto a round chip from the craft store :)

Sewing Sunday

Hi!Today's post will be featuring Saige modeling one of my newest creations for sewing Sunday- 
This dress was created out of a tshirt. I actually made this a while ago, around the same time as my last creation. I really like how it turned out! 

I really like this hairstyle, Saige's hair is the perfect length to play around with. I think the blue in the dress really brings out Saige's blue eyes.

Beforever Rebecca

Meet Rebecca! As I mentioned in an earlier post when we went to the Beforever debut we got Rebecca and her accessories, it was definitely a toss up between My AG #61, Rebecca and Kit, plus Addy. As we looked at the Rebecca dolls we kept coming back to this one- she had such a sweet expression on her face. The new meet outfit and hat definitely sealed the deal and here she is! 

The second day we had Rebecca her clip from her meet outfit snapped off :( Luckily we were able to put it back together but are really disappointed in the quality

AGPC Challenge One

So, Dolls On My Mind is holding a contest, similar to AGMA on YouTube and I am entering in to it because not only will it mean another blog post but it will help me improve my picture skills, so, without further ado, here is my picture.. 

As Kirsten journeys back to her log cabin she stops to rest and practice her English d-o-g she pronounces carefully. She wonders how she will ever please her teacher...  
I chose Kirsten because one, I just made her a school outfit and I just finished reading her books, I was really inspired by how hard working she is and even though it is hard for her to learn English and adapt to living in America she makes the best of it.
