Christmas 2015

Hi!, and a very Merry Christmas, late, to you all! I had a great time visiting family and friends and now it's back to blogging :)

These were just a few of the pictures I have of the dolls in their finest holiday attire. I know it's not all the dolls and I haven't taken an updated all my dolls pictures for this year but I wanted to wait...Can you guess why?
Thanks for looking!,

p.s. Stay tuned for a Christmas haul coming up later this week.

Happy Hollydays

Hi! Before I get into this post I wanted add a few updates-
Last week I auditioned for my school's musical, and, I have a part! I'm excited to participate but not excited for what this means for the blog. The small time that I had to post at least 3 times on two blogs is going to be even shorter with rehearsals almost everyday of the week plus rearranging dance classes to fit in :/
So posts might be less and scattered but certainly not less quality or fun!
Also, over Christmas break I will be traveling and may only bring at most one doll with me, so if things are quiet around here until around the New Year don't be alarmed :)
Now onto the post...

On one of the rare moments I found some time I worked on two Christmas themed circle skirts for my dolls to wear for Christmas pictures. The fabric was actually gifted to me so I ended up with a lot leftover, still not sure what to do with the rest!

I made two skirts, one knee length and the other about thigh length.

Charlotte and Mia volunteered to wear the cute skirts and I paired them with white tops to bring out the white berries of the holly print and balance the festive colors.

The longer skirt I chose to pair with Kirsten's winter blouse, giving it a historical look, and for Mia I decided on the white sweater from the Soft as Snow outfit.

I also used matching colored hair accessories to complete their outfit.

Still working on Christmas tree bokeh ;)

I thought "hollydays" was a perfect title for this photoshoot because of the matching skirt and tree skirt!

With both dolls strawberry blonde/red hair I wasn't sure if they could pull off the red and green look but surprisingly they look great together! Especially Charlotte :)

I was so surprised at how cute this skirt turned out because originally I disliked the crazy print. I thought it wouldn't go with anything but I was wrong!

My favorite picture

Why yes, this tree is fake, some people are allergic to evergreens xD

Last year I missed out on the Christmas tree and doll photos idea so be prepared for plenty more pictures featuring this spot :)

Favorite photo?
What's your top item on your wishlist? Mine would either have to be TM#58 or a 50mm lens for my camera!

Review Tuesday

Hi! This post is a continuation of last weeks post, the Gorgeous Gold dress by American Girl. These past few days and days after tomorrow are going to be even more busy than usual (auditioning for my school's musical!) so I'm left with an even smaller amount of blogging time than usual. Hopefully after this week I can find a better schedule to work blogging and doll time in :)

Rebecca is my model today for this dress, I think she looks gorgeous in it and the flower clip looks great with her short, curly hair.

I really love the elastic wristlet, this stays on really well and completes the outfit.

The dress is about knee length and drapes even lower in the back, most of the wrinkles did come out after some time and the tulle lays very nicely (Just the right amount of poof!).

The neckline of the dress looks really well on a doll, not too high or low and the bows are a really great touch. I like where they put the bows, it's not at the obvious waistline and really helps tie in the bows on the shoes.

Speaking of which, isn't this just the cutest picture?

The sun was setting fast so I had to hurry to get these pictures taken on Sunday, that's why not very many are in this post! Halfway through taking pictures I decided to use my gold side of the reflector as a background! Perfect color :)

For Christmas family photos I can't decide who will wear this dress! Any suggestions?

I think this was my favorite purchase (clothing wise) this year from AG I have made! Even though I missed the blue dress from last year, this one is another great (and unique!) Christmas dress.
Thanks for looking!,

Doll Sized Christmas Mailbox

This was actually something I bought before Halloween even started- I was at Dollar Tree and they already had a small section of Christmas stuff and I was looking around and stumbled upon an adorable doll mailbox! They had at least two different sizes (I chose the smallest one) and I think more than two designs.

Marie Grace with me today, don't worry!, her pin-curls are still their, I just tucked them into the braid ;)

It's snowed once or twice the past two weeks but never enough to cover the green grass and I refuse to start taking Christmas pictures until I take a few of Marie Grace and Lindsey in the snow.

I debated between this one and another one- eventually I chose this one because the design was cuter.

The graphic design on this one is perfect, it has a sort of vintage Christmas card feel to it.

Not many of Mia's outfits that I have, have been featured on here. Like this one, a few pilling on the front of the sweater happened and over the years and I just recently learned a trick that works to take it off without damaging the sweater- use a razor.

Plenty of space for those Christmas cards and gifts!
For $1 it's a great deal. Now just to find a stand to glue it onto and have an outdoor photoshoot!
Thanks for looking,

Review Tuesday

Hi! Today's review is on the Gorgeous Gold Outfit, one of the 2015 holiday dresses that is now currently unavailable. It retails for $36.

Compared to the other holiday dress I really like this one way better, and I knew that waiting to buy it on sale like I did with last years blue dress their would be a chance that I would miss buying it. Thankfully I learned my lesson and bought this one before it sold out :)

One of the other factors in deciding which one to buy was this one came with a purse and flower clip- unlike the typical dress, shoes and headband.

The flower itself is a metallic gold and has a leathery texture, very well made and petals feel very secure.

The gold bobby pin is great quality and the perfect size for doll hair, the bobby pin is really stiff and might take some time to easily slide into place. Metal and very durable, I don't think this will fall apart at all!

Standard bobby pin look ;)

I feel like this sparkly gold material is way over used recently but looks great with the rest of the outfit. I think this purse is cute but the silver gem looks out of place, this is a gold outfit after all ;)

Something awesome I discovered is no tag in the purse! Only a very stylish "American Girl" metal tag on the back :)

The wristlet is cream colored elastic which I think is nice because it will fit securely on a dolls wrist without having to worry about it sliding off.

Basic Velcro closure.

Cream ribbon finishes the edges of the purse.

The hair clip can fit in the purse but the purse has very little room to store things in.

Again with the overused gold stuff! But cute shoes ;)

Cream bows and plastic soles.

Yay! Just an "American Girl" stamp near the heel of both shoes, no tag on the inside!

Cream elastic, I'm not really fond of elastic straps like this on a doll shoe, while it's nice that it could potentially help the shoe to stay on it does make it harder to put on a doll.

Still cute though :)

The dress!

Back of the dress, standard Velcro.

The dress consists of the main bodice, cream satin waistband and tulle hi-low skirt. The bodice is a stretch knit and has a raised darker creme texture to it. I love this aspect as the knit helps the dress fit on the older dolls and is easier to pull on.

One of my favorite part of this dress- the bow straps! Really pretty and a great touch.

The Velcro could snag on the delicate tulle, something that has happened to my older AG holiday dresses so be careful taking this on and off your doll.

An off white underskirt (one layer) is used to make the tulle less see-through.

AG tag near the bottom the the skirt.

Three layers of tulle! One with gold, sparkly dots on it and two plain layers, all the same color.

Overview- Really great outfit, I really enjoy the gold color because it's doesn't have to be just a Christmas dress, it can work well with other events and special occasions. The colors go really well together and my only complaint is because the dress was folded in the box some parts of the skirt are really wrinkly and don't lay right, I hope over time this will fix itself :) I'm so glad I was able to buy it before it's gone!, but to those who still want it, you never know if it's truly sold out or not ;)
